Over 350 New Items added to MSBsportscards.com

It has been a busy year for MSB Sports Cards.  Much buying, trading, and selling.  We are encouraged by the market for vintage football as it seems to continously grow and mature.  Even more exciting are first hand testimonials of new collectors entering the vintage football collecting niche.  Andy and I spoke to a number of collectors at the National that were self-labeled "nubies".

1967 Royal Castle Miami Dolphins AFL

***ALL SOLD***

In 1967 the Royal Castle restaurant in Miami issued a a 27 card set featuring the AFL Miami Dolphins.  The cards are very scarce and rarely offered for sale.  MSB Sports Cards is pleased to have 16 of the 27 cards available (unfortunately none of the short prints), all in mid to high grade.  For a list of the cards reference either our new items or use the search function and "castle".

The 1911 C55 Imperial Tobacco Hockey set

We recently purchased a near complete set of C55 Imperial Tobacco hockey cards, all solid mid grade.  We sold a number of the cards including the Vezina at the National; but a wide selection of nice cards still remain listed on our website.

MSB Sports Cards at the 2013 National Sports Collectors Convention

For the fourth consecutive year, MSB Sports Cards will be buying, selling, and trading at the National Sports Collectors Convention (this year held in Chicago).  We will be occupying booths 401P and 403P.  If you are at the show stop by and say hello, if you can't make it we will be open for business as usual and filling orders through the website.

The 1935 National Chicle football set

Much has been written about what is arguably the most classic of the vintage football sets.  In 1935 the National Chicle Company in Cambridge, Massachusetts, produced a 36 card set of football players.  It was the first 20th century set that was devoted exclusively to football players as well as being widely distributed.  The set is full of stars including the most iconic card in the football hobby, Bronko Nagurski.  Check out our selection of National Chicle football cards ranging from collector grade to graded 9's.

Stars of the Diamond: 1909 -1911 E254 Colgan's Chips

In 1909 the Colgan's Gum Company in Louisville, Kentucky began producing what would end two years later as a 289 card set containing 226 different players.  Colgan's were continuously updated during those two years as at least several print runs were done to correct errors, change font style and orientation, as well as document team changes. As a result there are multiple levels of rarity within the set with some cards being very common and others being extremely rare ( and the rest falling somewhere in between).

Welcome to MSB Sports Cards new website!

With 70 years of collective hobby experience we have forged a business model with the collector in mind. Vintage & Antique Collectible Football Books and Publication selection at MSB Sports Cards

There is no better way to gain an understanding for the strategy, design, and feel of the early game of football than to read period accounts and information.  Over the last year MSB has acquired a number of collections of vintage football books authored by the likes of Walter Camp, Harry March, and other famous pioneers of the game.  Many of these books are rare first editions.  Also in these collections were groupings of early Spalding Football guides and programs.  These items can be searched using the "Books and Other Publications" link and/or the "Football Programs & Tickets".  Tha

Happy 3rd Birthday MSB Sports Cards!

It's hard to believe that Andy and I have been operating as MSB for the last three years...time has just blown by.  To date it has been a very successful venture for us, both as collectors and as dealers.  I think what has allowed us to be so successful is that we always attempt to approach what we do with the perspective of a collector first.  While we are definitely vintage football enthusiasts, both Andy and I have great interest in pre-war baseball cards which is why we will always attempt to have a decent, buffet-style selection of pre-war issues.  We have made some big purchases in th
