1935 National Chicle Football # 4 Matesic rare ERROR missing "I"

Completing a set of National Chicle football cards, even considering the more scarce high numbers, can be accomplished with patience and resources. A few collectors who want to continue their quest have turned to the R311-2 premiums, adding a wrapper as a companion piece, or even completing a master set of 60 cards with all the back variations. Offered here is an opportunity to set a Chicle collection apart from almost all others; an error card documented only once (sold in a Lew Lipset auction around years ago) to the best of our knowledge until now. The error relates to the #4 Ed Matesic card; Matesic's name on the front of the card is missing part of the "S" and the entire "I". This second example (the first example can be viewed in Lew's archives; the card offered here is definitely a different example) is newly documented and fresh to the hobby. The error was likely a printing flaw related to missing dye or an obstruction on portion of the plate. With prices skyrocketing for the so called freaks, oddities, printing errors in baseball cards like the T206's, this a great opportunity to own an extremely rare error card that so far has flown under the radar. From the Mike Blaisdell collection.
